Cancellation of Services by Top Rider Australia due to minimum numbers not met
To ensure the efficient running of our scheduled courses, a minimum number of participants is required. This helps us cover staff and resource costs and maintain sustainable business operations. Please be aware that Top Rider may need to reschedule a course on short notice to meet these requirements.
While we will make every effort to provide adequate notice and assist you in finding a suitable alternative date and time, Top Rider Australia accepts no liability for any claims related to the cancellation of a course. In the event Top Rider cancels a course, all fees paid will be transferred to the new booking, or a credit will be applied to your account.
Cancellation of Services by Top Rider Australia due to unforeseen circumstances
Top Rider Australia may, at its discretion, cancel or reschedule courses in the event of unforeseen events or situations outside our control. Affected participants will be informed promptly and provided with the option to transfer their enrolment to a subsequent available course or to convert their booking into a course credit. Top Rider Australia accepts no liability for any claims related to the cancellation of a course.
To ensure a smooth cancellation process and eligibility for a full refund, participants must notify us of their intent to cancel and submit a refund request no later than 30 days prior to the scheduled course date. This policy allows us to manage our resources efficiently and offer the vacated spot to other interested individuals. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding in adhering to this timeframe, which helps us maintain a fair and organized system for all participants.
To ensure efficient course management, participants are advised to submit rescheduling requests at least 7 days prior to the scheduled course date to avoid any additional fees. If rescheduling is necessary within 7 days of the course date, a fee of $150 will be applied. This fee covers the administrative processes involved in coordinating course schedules and compensates for any potential loss incurred by Top Rider as a result of not being able to offer the course placement to another individual.
Medical Certificates may be submitted to Top Rider as grounds for exemption from the Refund or Cancellation Policy. It should be noted that the acceptance of such certificates is subject to the organiser's discretion.
Transfers Between Participants
Transfers of course bookings between participants are permissible provided they are executed no later than two days before the course begins. Please be advised that new participants are required to fulfil the eligibility criteria established for engaging in the course for which they have registered. This is a mandatory condition for participation.
Cancellation of Services by Top Rider Australia
Top Rider Australia may, at its discretion, cancel or reschedule courses in the event of unforeseen events or situations outside our control. Affected participants will be informed promptly and provided with the option to transfer their enrolment to a subsequent available course or to convert their booking into a course credit. Top Rider Australia accepts no liability for any claims related to the cancellation of a course.
The allocation of course credits is subject to the determination of the organising party. Should such credits be awarded, they must be redeemed within a period not exceeding three months from the issuance date.
The course will proceed under a variety of weather conditions, with the provision that a Top Rider official may cancel the session if they determine that the weather poses a risk to safety. Participants will be notified of any such cancellation by a Top Rider representative. The term 'weather conditions' encompasses, but is not limited to, phenomena such as rain, high temperatures, and gusty winds.
Failure to attend a scheduled course, known as a 'no show', encompasses circumstances including, but not limited to, adverse weather conditions, occupational duties, and vehicular malfunctions. In such events, participants forfeit the right to a refund or the option to reschedule, resulting in the loss of the full booking fee.
Eligibility Check and Documentation
Participants are required to complete a Q-Ride course eligibility check prior to their scheduled course and provide Top Rider Australia with documentation proving their eligibility. It is the participant's sole responsibility to ensure they meet the eligibility criteria and can present the required documentation. Failure to comply will result in the forfeiture of the full booking fee.
Please Note: Accredited Rider Trainers are required to complete an eligibility check prior to commencing the course. Top Rider Australia will not be held responsible for any financial loss the participant incurs if they arrive at the scheduled course without the necessary documentation.
As a Q-Ride course provider, we are required to adhere to strict criteria in the delivery of Q-Ride courses. Accredited Rider Trainers must assess all participants based on the Q-Ride course competency standards set out by the Department of Transport and Main Roads.
The Q-Ride program requires each participant to be assessed on their competency for each module sequentially. Throughout the assessment, participants will receive either a ‘competent’ or ‘not yet competent’ recommendation for each module. If a participant is deemed ‘not yet competent’ at any point, they will not be permitted to continue with the course nor be eligible for a refund and will need to schedule a new booking for re-assessment (subject to re-assessment fee).
A motorcycle deemed unfit for operation, which includes lacking roadworthiness, proper registration, or classification for the course, will result in the participant's ineligibility for a refund or rescheduling. The full booking fee will be forfeited under these conditions.
Participants may opt to utilize a motorcycle provided by the training facility, subject to prior arrangement to guarantee availability for the course.
A participant is considered unfit for riding if they lack the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) — including long trousers, closed footwear, gloves, helmet, and jacket (Top Rider offers gloves, helmets, and jackets if needed) — or are found to be impaired because of the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.
Unfit participants will not receive a refund or the opportunity to reschedule, and the entire booking fee will be forfeited. Top Rider retains the discretion to determine a participant's fitness to ride.
Gift certificates issued by Top Rider are applicable for use across a diverse range of Top Rider courses. Should the services selected exceed the voucher's value, the bearer is responsible for the payment of the difference in cost. These gift certificates cannot be exchanged for cash and are not eligible for a refund. Upon reaching the expiration date, Top Rider gift certificates lose all value and validity.
The Learner shall assume full liability for any damages incurred to motorcycles, protective gear, or any property belonging to Top Rider Australia during use. It is the Learner's obligation to remunerate Top Rider Australia in full for repairs or replacements within fourteen days from the date the damage occurred. The cost for such damages will be determined on an individual basis, considering the specific circumstances of each incident.
If the Learner opts to pay a damage liability reduction fee of $50.00, the Learner's financial responsibility shall be limited to a maximum amount of $500.00. Conversely, should the Learner choose not to pay the damage liability reduction fee, they will be held accountable for the total expenses associated with the repair or replacement of the damaged items.

Please be advised that punctuality is a requirement for the commencement of your course. Should you arrive more than ten minutes past the scheduled start time, it is within our rights to deny entry to the course. Subsequent course enrolment will necessitate a new booking and payment of the applicable fee in full.
You acknowledge that Top Rider will not tolerate any student being disruptive, disrespectful, using inappropriate language or discriminating against other students or staff members.
